About CPA

The Center for Peace and Advocacy (CPA) is a national non-profit, non-political and non-governmental organization founded on December 6th, 2013 dedicated to promoting human rights, advocacy, transitional justice, institutional reforms, gender justice, and good governance development in South Sudan through citizen’s participation in governance and decision-making processes.  CPA was fully registered by the Government of South Sudan (GoSS) under the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission on April 20, 2020, with Registration number 2859. It is a national organization that is non-governmental, non-political, and non-profitable.

Center for Peace and Advocacy works across society and borders to address the consequences of massive human rights violations through advocacy and lobby, capacity building, monitoring, documentation, and reporting, fighting impunity, and promoting responsive institutions 

Main Objective

 

To promote promotion and protection of human rights, good governance, and peacebuilding for sustainable development in South Sudan

Specific Objectives

  • To Promote peacebuilding and human rights in South Sudan;
  • To undertake applied research for support of policy advocacy and promotion and protection of human rights;
  • To raise awareness and educate communities on the importance of the respect of human rights, peace, and rule of law in South Sudanese;
  • To encourage networking among partners for effective advocacy on peaceful co-existence among communities in South Sudan; and
  • To document, monitor, and disseminate information through training, workshops, seminars, and publications for education and the protection of human rights in South Sudan

The Center for Peace and Advocacy’s core values help describe what makes CPA a unique and special place to work with us. CPA’s values guide individual employees, shape interactions between all employees and departments, and foster strong relationships with our external partners and public supporters.  CPA has important values that it conforms to, with what they say and to ethical behavior and generally accepted standards of effectiveness in advocacy. CPA responsibly utilizes available resources, according to what it plans and claims to deliver and openly shares the information with relevant key stakeholders and citizens.
